Analysis of Body Fluids
NMR analysis of whole blood, plasma, serum, urine, CSF and cerebrospinal fluid can be performed. The Metabo Test was developed for urine and the Cardio Test for blood analysis.
NMR-based analysis of body fluids
NMR spectroscopy is a powerful tool to investigate body fluids, including whole blood, plasma, serum, urine, liquor, and cerebrospinal fluid. As an example, the NMR spectrum of the urine of a child suffering from pyroglutamic aciduria is shown in the figure on the right. Characteristic spectral patterns indicate the presence of the metabolite 5-oxoproline in pathologically elevated concentration.
Our Instruments
INFAI has 30 years of experience in NMR-based investigations of body fluids. Over the years, a comprehensive library of spectral information on numerous diseases and isolated metabolites has been accumulated. Combined with our recently updated automation equipment (figures below), extensive research and screening projects are feasible.
