Quality Assured Service from the INFAI Laboratory Equipped with the most modern breath analysis mass spectrometers and supervised by the most experienced and highly qualified stall in the UK, INFAI provides the most efficient and reliable service. Instrumentation: INFAI UK uses a new type of mass spectrometer which has a number of features not available on older instruments. Each individual breath sample is compared with a calibrated reference gas and can be repeatedly analysed and archived for audit purposes. Reference materials: The accuracy of stable isotope determinations is ensured by relating them to internationally accepted standards. INFAI uses materials which have been calibrated by inter-laboratory comparison with a number of leading laboratories. A documented programme of inter-laboratory comparisons ensures that the data we produce is totally reliable.
Laboratory procedures: Fully documented Standard Operating Procedures are currently in use at INFAI and have been submitted for NAMAS accreditation. Staff: INFAI scientists and technical staff are highly trained and regularly reassessed in a rigorously implemented programme of performance appraisals. Quality Management: A Quality Manager has been appointed to ensure full compliance with our internal operating procedures and to manage a programme of objective audits.
